  7. Speculator 97 is the 1997 version of a fast Spectrum emulator written in the
  8. UK, updating the version originally released on Amiga Format and Amiga User
  9. International cover-disks late last year. It has many advantages over earlier
  10. Amiga Spectrum emulators. It is shareware but has no operational restrictions.

  14. o  Speculator is OS friendly and runs on all versions of the 680X0.
  15. o  Extensive documentation in AmigaGuide format, plus extra pictures/documents.
  16. o  The Workbench 2.0/3.0 environment and AGA mode promotion is supported.
  17. o  Snapshot files in six different formats are supported transparently.
  18. o  Support for all the standard Amiga keys as well as the main 40 Spectrum ones.
  19. o  Rewritten Spectrum ROM Calls for increased BASIC speed.
  20. o  ROM extensions - CAT command and full BASIC file handling implemented.
  21. o  Hi Resolution display of menus and requesters, with mode promotion.
  22. o  Integrated utilities such as built-in Z80 Disassembler and screen to IFF saver.
  23. o  High speed - efficient Z80 engine and screen handling.
  24. o  ZA80 cross-assembler included for developing Z80 assembler programs.
  25. o  Speculator can be used transparently through project icons for snapshot programs.
  26. o  LPRINT, LLIST and output to stream #3 is re-directed to any Amiga device or file.
  27. o  Spectrum disk handler supplied for using MGT disks just like real Amiga disks.
  28. o  Optional built in Easy Keys feature to over come touch key entry problems.
  29. o  Lots of *legal* example programs including BetaBASIC3, AstroBall and Smashout.
  30. o  Cassette load with simple cable for all Amigas.
  31. o  Supports serial transfers to and from real Spectrums.
  32. o  Automated Hard disk installation for both emulator and MGT handler.
  33. o  Startup icon allows easy use direct from CD or any sub-directory.
  34. o  Supplied with an Amiga-compatible Spectrum-style ZX8 font.
